North Yoga & Wellness A Non-Judgemental Studio

There's a hidden gem in northwest London where healing and wellness take centre stage in a beautiful, open and non-judgmental yoga studio. That place is North Yoga & Wellness, located at 1615 North Routledge Park Road.

“After being downsized from my job in the financial sector, I did some soul searching and knew that I wanted to create a space where people could come, do yoga and feel free being judged or self conscious when they are on their mat,” says owner Allison Silcox. “After many hours of hard work, laying the flooring and installing incredible features like a barn door at the studio entrance, North came to reality.”

The studio features yoga and meditation classes 7 days a week and is the only studio in London that has a full time kids yoga program. “Our kids program is pretty amazing,” Allison explains. “We teach kids to embrace their emotions and love their bodies through movement, and also incorporate a kids meditation each week so they have time to settle down, be still and quiet, and feel safe.” Over the past ten months, North Yoga & Wellness has seen significant growth in their students and is happily offering new programs such as Prenatal Yoga (set to begin in October), a signature North Flow class full of heart openers and a slower paced, and has recently started their girls empowerment class called Goddess Rising geared toward building confidence in girls aged 10-14 years old. “We also do a significant amount of outreach in the community, having provided yoga and meditation at Wellness On The Water at Fanshawe Conservation Area, yoga for various medical practices throughout the city as well as a community after school program for teens with the Northwest London Resource Centre,” Allison says. “We are very passionate about supporting the community, health and wellness and hope that everyone who enters the space or takes a community class run by our incredible instructors feels that passion.”

North Yoga & Wellness goes even further to support the London, Ontario community by featuring local small entrepreneurs in their retail shop. “We are so excited to have local products in our retail space. From Booch to Spirit Earth Holistics, beTeas, Elesence, Peaceful People Society, Happy Rock Holistics, Mish Mash Boutique and OverClean – there is truly something here for everyone!” explains Allison. “We also have holistic spa services, and various holistic practitioners such as Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy, Holistic Nutrition who rent our collaborative office to see clients. It's such a great feeling to be able to provide a space that incorporates so many levels of healing for everyone.”
